Talihina’s Worley wins at state
Four powerlifters from LeFlore County placed in the top five in the juniorhigh state meet on Thursday in El Reno.
Talihina seventh-grader Jack Worley won his division, beating the next best lifter by 140 pounds while garnering 175 pounds on the bench press, 325 on squat and 355 on deadlift.
Panama’s Tristan Jordan was five pounds away from the top prize in his division. He had the best in the division in squat (460 pounds) and bench (290 pounds), but his 445-pound deadlift was 40 pounds away from winner Sonny Freeman of Broken Bow.
