Cameron MS gets top 13th at nationals, Cameron HS places 18th

Cameron’s middlescho­ol and high-school archery teams both earned high finishes at the National Archery in Schools Program western national tournament that took place in Sandy, Utah, on Friday and Saturday.

Both teams qualified for the world championsh­ip. Senior Jordyn Rivera qualified as an individual in the 3D shoot, and eighth-grader Danny Traw qualified in the bullseye event.

Cameron’s middlescho­ol team finished 13th out of 34 teams, and the high-school team took 18th out of 39 teams.

Cameron’s middlescho­ol team scored 3,178 points, 44 away from the top 10.

Traw was 58th among 417 middle-school boys and 176th overall by shooting 275. Damian Elliott was 78th among middle-school boys, scoring 278. Among other middlescho­ol boys, Adian Crase was 141st, scoring 266. Rian Jones was 156th, sccoring 264. Jason Watts was 169th, scoring 263.

Isabelle Ridenour was 58th among 374 middlescho­ol girls, scoring 274. Among other middlescho­ol girls, Paityn Beason was 67th, scoring 272. Luxy Sweeten was 96th, scoring 269 and Kambrie Trapp was 197th, scoring 257.

Cameron’s high school team scored 3,246 points, 49 away from the top 10.

Rivera scored 284 to place 30th among highschool girls, sixth among seniors and 43rd out of 1,052 females overall. Elizabeth Goforth was 104th among high-school girls, scoring 274. Among other high-school girls, Kimmie Couch was 176th, scoring 266.

Zachary Raper was 75th among 378 highschool boys, 24th among ninth-graders and 115th out of 1,100 males overall as he scored 279 with 15 bullseyes. Jake Cauthen was 127th among highschool boys by scoring 274.

Among other highschool boys, Trenton Wagner was 134th, scoring 273. Gunnar Brady was 147th, scoring 271. Tru Fruen was 156th, scoring 270. Steven Butler was 166th, scoring 270. Aidan Self was 183rd, scoring 268. Avery Crase was 239th, scoring 262. Jaxyn Cox was 269th, scoring 257.

In the IBO 3D challenge, Cameron’s middlescho­ol team earned 12th place, and the high-school team was 19th, both out of 44 teams.

Rivera earned 10th among high-school girls, third among seniors and 16th out of females overall with a score of 285. She had 17 bullsyes. Among other high-school girls, Mylie Ibison was 52nd, scoring 270. Goforth was 92nd, scoring 264.

Brady was 111th out of 323 high-school boys, scoring 268.

Among other highschool boys, Avery Crase was 118th, scoring 267. Cauthen was 124th, scoring 265. Fruen was 133rd, scoring 265. Raper was 159th, scoring 261. Self was 162nd, scoring 261. Cox was 188th, scoring 257.

Beason placed 49th among middle-school girls, scoring 267. Ridenour placed 62nd, scoring 265 with nine bullseyes. Sweeten scored 265 with seven bullseyes to place 64th.

Jason Watts placed 43rd out of 350 middlescho­ol boys, scoring 273 with 14 bullseyes. Among other middle-school boys, James Gaylor was 50th, scoring 272. Elliott was 67th, scoring 269. Crase was 69th, scoring 268. Jones was 70th, scoring 268.
