Poteau musical standouts at state competitio­n

Patsy Driever, Psalm Yandell, Zane Harrison, and Grant Thomas of Natlynn’s Voice Studio were selected at the Poteau District Festival to attend the State Music Festival Competitio­n. These students were great representa­tives of our district at state with the following awards in the competitio­n.

Tessa Clemmer received a winner’s plaque in Primary Vocal Musical Theatre and a second-place silver medal in Primary Vocal Art Song. Aria Hayes received a second-place silver medal in Elementary Vocal Art Song, Elementary Vocal Musical Theatre, and Elementary Piano Duet. Chaya Rodgers received a winner’s plaque in Junior Female Vocal Art Song. Patsy Driever received a third-place bronze medal in Junior Female Vocal Musical Theatre.

Psalm Yandell received winner’s plaques in Senior Female Musical Theatre and Senior Female Art Song. Zane Harrison received a winner’s plaque in Senior Male Vocal Art Song and a second-place silver medal in Senior Male Vocal Musical Theatre. Grant Thomas received winner’s plaques in Musically Advanced Male Musical Theatre and Musically Advanced Male Art Song.

This was the first year for Tessa,

Aria, Chaya, and Patsy to compete at the state festival. Mr. Bill King traveled to Ada as the student’s collaborat­ive pianist. I am so proud of these students for their interest in music and their traveled to Ada as the student’s collaborat­ive pianist.
