The construction layup for the Head Kore 105 sounds like the build-out for a sexy robot: Graphene, koroyd, karuba, “topless tech.” Ski engineering can be full of buzzwords and gimmicky materials, but don’t let any sense of future-fear turn you off to this ski. Thanks to that technology, the Kore 105, the Ski of the Year last year, is a highly versatile stick that’s shockingly light (1755 grams) but still stable. The ski is as comfortable railing groomers as it is pivoting through the steep, snowy trees at Red. At a reasonable width underfoot, the Kore 105 is an everyday ski for Western skiers. Maybe the future isn’t so bad after all.
