Skiing in India’s Himalayan mountains, many of which rise above 20,000 feet, is unpredictable at best. In the Zanskar region, snow can be sparse and the approach can be as long as a 10-day trek upstream from the small town of Leh. There, you might just find your own slice of serenity in a country of more than 1.3 billion people.
