Price Tops Podium at Burghley

Holding the lead after cross country, Tim Price (NZL) and Ringwood Sky Boy put in one of only eight clear show-jumping rounds to win the Sept. 2 Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials CCI**** in England. The pair, who placed fifth in 2017, finished on a score of 27.3. “What a super year,” said Price. “Sky Boy deserves a good day. So often we nail two out of the three phases, so to finally pull them all together in a major competition is fantastic. This win means everything and I’m super proud of my horse.”

Defending champions Oliver Townend and Ballaghmor Class finished the four-star event in second place on a score of 31.9. “He’s still only 11, and I’ve been telling people for years how good he is,” Townend said of his horse. “He’s proved that again today. For me, he turned into a professional this week and dug deep, whereas last year he won out of naivety.”
