It doesn’t matter how fast Brickyard Ride runs early, his opposition can’t catch the 4-year-old Clubhouse Ride colt trained by Craig Lewis.

Ridden by apprentice Alexis Centeno, Brickyard Ride set scorching fractions of 21.63 and 43.93 en route to a four-length victory over favored Tigre Di Slugo in the $200,000 Grade II race. He ran the 7 furlongs in 1:21.51.

Clubhouse Ride, the 5-1 third wagering choice who gave Centeno his first stakes victory when he won the California Cup Sprint at Santa Anita on Jan. 16, gave the 27-yearold native of Puerto Rico his first graded-stakes victory Saturday.
