About 5% of Long Beach Transit’s budget comes from the city via various federal, state and Los Angeles County grants. Officials with Metro and other local transit agencies have been discussing a potential fare-free program for low-income riders. Because of a reporting error, the percentage of Long Beach Transit’s budget that comes from the city, and Metro’s involvement in discussions with other agencies about the fare-free program, were incorrect in an article on Page 3 of the News section in Saturday’s edition of the Press-Telegram.
