Newsom shouldn’t disregard death penalty
When Gov. Newsom announced that there would be no executions on his watch, he disregarded the law, the will of the voters, the California Supreme Court, and hundreds of jury verdicts and judge’s signatures on death penalty cases.
Obviously, he would prefer an attorney general who refuses to enforce the law.
Or maybe the recall effort will change his thinking on this issue, like it changed his thinking on outdoor dining, reopening the schools and which special interest groups get to move to the front of the line for their vaccinations. — John Knapp, Long Beach
