1. La Mirada (22-6-1): The Matadores will host Harvard-Westlake in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 1playoffs today. La Mirada freshmen infielders Aiden Aguayo and Maverek Russell have been clutch contributo­rs all season.

2. Warren (21-6-1): The Bears will host Etiwanda in the second round of the Division 1 playoffs today. Coach Scott Pearson has dubbed his team “The Comeback Kids” and they lived up to their nickname with a 2-1 comeback win against Beckman in the first round. Senior shortstop Rocco Caballero has been one of the team's most important leaders on and off the field this season.

3. Millikan (21-8): The Rams will play at Hart in the second round of the Division 2 playoffs today. The game will be a rematch of the last year's CIF-SS D3 semifinals. Millikan won that game and went on to win the division championsh­ip. Rams senior pitcher Myles Patton has been on point this season, and senior shortstop Sam DeCarlo has been the team's best and most consistent hitter.

4. St. John Bosco (1512): The Braves would have arguably been the most talented team in the Division 3 playoffs but they did not receive an at-large bid after finishing fifth in the extremely competitiv­e Trinity League. However, St. John Bosco is still an upperechel­on team, ranking as the No. 1team in the PressTeleg­ram area before league play started.

5. Los Alamitos (18-92): The Griffins lost 3-2to Harvard-Westlake in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs. Junior Joshua Donegan pitched well against the Wolverines.

6. Wilson (20-9): The Bruins, who are more than capable of making a postseason run, will play at Loyola in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs today. Wilson's bats came alive during a six-run rally in the sixth inning to beat No. 10 St. Anthony 8-3 in the first round. Sophomore Aaron Mingo and seniors Charlie Royle and Xander McLaurin will need their “A” game if Wilson wants to keep winning.

7. Lakewood (18-11): The Lancers will host Norco in the second round of the Division 2 playoffs today. Lakewood senior pitcher Anthony Eyanson threw another complete-game shutout to lead his team to a 1-0first-round win against Moorpark. Lakewood finished third in the Moore League behind No. 4 Millikan and No. 6 Wilson. Previous: 7

8. Bellflower (14-13-2):

The Buccaneers will play at Pacifica of Oxnard in the second round of the Division 6playoffs today. Bellflower junior pitcher Larry Salgado threw a one-hit, completega­me shutout against Jurupa Valley in the first round.

Previous: unranked 9. Cerritos (22-6): The Dons lost 10-0to Riverside Poly in the first round of Division 3 playoffs. Cerritos won the 605 League title.

Saints junior first baseman Luis Gil hit a home run as St. Anthony lost 8-3to No. 6 Wilson in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs.
