Iglesias, Cheap Trick among December acts

It feels like yet another year has flown by.

Though 2022 is rapidly coming to an end, Southern California casinos still have a number of concerts for guests to dance and sing at and comedy shows to keep them laughing into next year.

Here are six events to check out at Southern California casinos in December.

Dec. 1-9

Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will bring his stand-up comedy act to Pala Casino Spa & Resort. Iglesias built a following on Comedy Central with his show “Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand Up Revolution” and has several Netflix specials such as “I'm Not Fat… I'm Fluffy” and “Hot & Fluffy.” This year, the comedian also became the first ever to perform at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, a performanc­e included in his latest Netflix special, “Gabriel Iglesias: Stadium Fluffy.”

Actor, stand-up comedian, writer and producer Marlon Wayans will perform a standup set at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. Wayans has acted in television shows such as “The Wayans Bros.” and in comedy films like “Scary Movie,” “Scary Movie 2” and “White Chicks.”

Dec. 10-11

Cheap Trick, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, will perform at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. The band is best known for hits such as “I

Want You to Want Me,” “Surrender” and “The Flame.”

Dec. 16-17

Jeff Dunham, a ventriloqu­ist stand-up comedian, will bring his puppet comedy show to Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage. Dunham is known for colorful characters like Walter, Peanut and Bubba J and has several Comedy Central and Netflix specials under his belt, including “Jeff Dunham: Relative Disaster,” “Jeff Dunham: Beside Himself” and “Jeff Dunham's Completely Unrehearse­d LastMinute Pandemic Holiday Special.”

Stand-up comedian John Mulaney will perform at Yaamava' Resort & Casino. Mulaney rose to prominence as a “Saturday Night Live” writer and actor and has gone on to produce stand-up specials such as “New in Town,” “The Comeback Kid” and “Kid Gorgeous.” He also provides the voice of Andrew Glouberman in Nick Kroll's Netflix animated series, “Big Mouth.”
