What's open and closed on Presidents Day in Long Beach

Presidents Day is on Monday — which means many government offices and services will be closed.

Federal buildings and services, such as courthouse­s and mail delivery, will be shuttered on Monday. Most government buildings and services also will be closed statewide and in Los Angeles County.

As for Long Beach, here is a list of facilities and services that will be open and closed in Long Beach as the nation honors its presidents.

Here's what's open during regular business hours Monday:

• All city parks and trails (excluding El Dorado Nature Center).

• The city-run COVID-19 testing and vaccinatio­n site at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 1133 Rhea St., from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

• Fire stations and lifeguard stations.

• Long Beach Airport.

• Marina offices (Alamitos Bay Marina and Shoreline Marina).

• Main police station front desk.

• Gas services dispatch (562-570-2140) is open 24/7 for emergency calls.

• Water/sewer dispatch (562-570-2390) is open 24/7 for emergency calls.

And here's what will be closed Monday:

• City Hall, offices and public services.

• BizCare Hotline (562570-4BIZ).

• Building and safety services, including inspection­s, plan reviews and permit center.

• Citizen Police Complaint Commission.

• City-operated testing sites and vaccinatio­n sites for flu, COVID-19 and monkeypox (excluding Martin Luther King Jr. Park site).

• City Prosecutor's Office.

• Code enforcemen­t services.

• COVID-19 informatio­n line (562-570-4636).

• Energy resources offices. • El Dorado Nature Center.

• Fire headquarte­rs, support services, fire prevention and operations, including marine safety administra­tion.

• Health department and health facilities.

• Homeless services outreach line (562-5704672).

• Housing Authority.

• LB Resource Hotline (562-570-INFO).

• Long Beach Airport administra­tion offices.

• Long Beach Animal Care Services and spcaLA.

• Long Beach utilities offices.

• Neighborho­od Resources Center.

• Parks, Recreation and Marine programs, community park facilities and pools.

• Special events and filming offices.

• The Towing Operations and Vehicle Storage Facility, 3111 E. Willow St., will be closed.

• WorkPlace, Youth Opportunit­y Center and Pacific Gateway Administra­tive offices.

• Utility call center (Nonemergen­cy gas, water and refuse issues).

Street sweeping

There will be no street sweeping or street-sweeping violation enforcemen­t on Monday.

Street sweeping will resume Tuesday.

Parking enforcemen­t

Citywide parking violations, including parking meters, will be enforced Monday unless the meter says “Exempt on Holidays.”

The days and hours of enforcemen­t are displayed on the meters.

Libraries

All Long Beach Public Library locations and services, including the main phone line, will be closed from Saturday to Monday. Libraries are not open Sundays or Mondays, so they will observe the holiday Saturday and will reopen Tuesday.
