THE GAME: The Dodgers lost 6-3to the Kansas City Royals in the Cactus League finale Saturday afternoon at Camelback Ranch. The Dodgers went 13-11-4 in Arizona this spring.

PITCHING REPORT: In his final spring tuneup, Dustin May gave up four runs in 5 2/3 innings, including a three-run home run to Bobby Witt Jr. May threw 83pitches over the longest outing by a Dodgers pitcher this spring. He is scheduled to start the second game of the season Friday against the Arizona Diamondbac­ks. … Andre Jackson allowed one run over the final 2 1/3 innings. Jackson has won the final bullpen spot and will open the season with the Dodgers as a long reliever.

HITTING REPORT: Michael Busch was

2 for 4 with a double and a home run . ... Jason Heyward was 1for 2with a single and scored the Dodgers' first run on a wild pitch. … James Outman was 1 for 3 with a double and finished Cactus League play with a team-high 14hits – half for extra bases (four doubles, one triple, two home runs) . ... Steven Duggar had two singles and drove in a run.

DEFENSE REPORT: May and Devin Mann combined on the best defensive play of the day on a swinging bunt by Witt in the fifth inning. May fielded the ball on the grass near the third-base line with his bare hand, spun and threw to first. Mann scooped the low throw out of the dirt to get Witt. Mann later made a nice diving play on a ground ball behind first base.
