Poly's Scott named Moore League's top player
Poly senior Lucas Scott has been named the Moore League Player of the Year by the league's baseball coaches.
The UC Irvine signee was Poly's ace pitcher this season as the team went undefeated (12-0) in winning the league title. Scott finished with an outstanding 0.71 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 69 innings. Scott also played shortstop and hit .356 with 12 RBIs, three doubles and two home runs. He also scored a team-high 26 runs.
The Jackrabbits finished with a 23-5 overall record and reached the CIF SoCal Regional Division III playoffs.
Millikan senior Austin Paul was named the Moore League Pitcher of the Year.
Paul led the Rams to a 21-9 overall record and a second-place finish in league with a 9-3 record.
Millikan's ace finished the season with a 1.45 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 62 2/3 innings.
Poly senior pitcher/shortstop Lucas Scott, a standout on the mound and offensively for the Jackrabbits, was selected as the 2023 Moore League Player of the Year.
