PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Isaac Machuca, Millikan, Senior
Millikan’s Isaac Machuca led the Rams to the Moore League championship this season with an 8-1-3 league record. He was named Moore League Most Valuable Player and selected first team All-CIF in Division 3. Machuca anchored the Rams’ defense, which gave up only 25 goals in 26 games, including 11 shutouts. The Rams (14-5-7 overall) lost in the second round of the CIF-Southern Section
Division 3 playoffs. He was named Moore League Defensive Player of the Year after his junior season.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Eric Leon, Long Beach Poly
Eric Leon led Long Beach Poly to the school’s first appearance in a CIF-Southern Section championship game since 1999. The Jackrabbits finished as the CIF-SS Division 2 runner-up to San Clemente. Poly finished the season with a 9-7-8 overall record.
