Stroud's record day leads Texans win

C.J. Stroud threw for five touchdowns and a rookie-record 470 yards, and his 15-yard TD pass to Tank Dell with 6 seconds to go lifted the Houston Texans to a 39-37 home win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Baker Mayfield put the Buccaneers on top with a 14-yard scoring pass to Cade Otton with 46 seconds left.

But the Texans (4-4) drove down the field and Stroud found Dell in the end zone for the lead.

Dell had six catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns, Noah Brown had six receptions for 153 yards and a score, and Dalton Schultz added 10 receptions for 130 yards and a TD.

Mayfield threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns as the Buccaneers (35) dropped their fourth in a row.

Stroud, the No. 2 overall pick out of Ohio State, led the Texans to touchdowns on their first three possession­s of the second half to go up 30-23.

He broke the rookie record set by the Colts' Andrew Luck, who passed for 433 yards against the Dolphins in 2012. RAVENS 37, SEAHAWKS 3 ❯❯ Keaton Mitchell ran for 138 yards and his first NFL touchdown, Odell Beckham Jr. scored for the first time since the Super Bowl two seasons ago and host Baltimore routed Seattle.

Gus Edwards ran for two touchdowns for the Ravens (7-2), who held an opponent to nine points or fewer for the fourth time this season.

The Seahawks (5-3) managed only six first downs and were outgained 515 yards to 151.

VIKINGS 31, FALCONS 28 ❯❯ Newly acquired Joshua Dobbs threw two touchdown passes, including a goahead 6-yarder to Brandon Powell with 22 seconds remaining, and also ran for a score, and Minnesota rallied to beat host Atlanta (4-5) for its fourth straight win.

The Vikings (5-4) overcame the loss of rookie quarterbac­k Jaren Hall to a concussion in the first quarter. BENGALS 24, BILLS 18 ❯❯ Joe Burrow threw for 348 yards and two touchdowns as Cincinnati topped visiting Buffalo for its fourth straight victory.

Burrow was 31 for 44 while completing passes to eight receivers, with tight ends Irv Smith Jr. and Drew Sample making the TD grabs. Tee Higgins had eight receptions for 110 yards for the Bengals (5-3).

Meanwhile, Cincinnati's defense kept Josh Allen and the Bills (5-4) playing from behind throughout.

COMMANDERS 20, PATRIOTS 17 ❯❯ Sam Howell passed for 325 yards and a touchdown to help visiting Washington (4-5) beat New England (2-7).

BROWNS 27, CARDINALS 0 ❯❯ Deshaun Watson threw two touchdown passes in his second start in five weeks due to a shoulder injury and host Cleveland (5-3) held Arizona (1-8) to just 58 yards. It was the Browns' first shutout since 2007.

Cleveland recorded seven sacks, with Dalvin Tomlinson getting rookie Clayton Tune 21/2 times.

SAINTS 24, BEARS 17 ❯❯ Taysom Hill caught a touchdown pass and threw for another, Paulson Adebo intercepte­d two passes, and New Orleans (5-4) won at home over Chicago (2-7).

RAIDERS 30, GIANTS 6 ❯❯ Josh Jacobs rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns, and Antonio Pierce won in his debut as interim coach as host Las Vegas (4-5) routed New York (2-7).

Maxx Crosby had three of the Raiders' eight sacks.

COLTS 27, PANTHERS 13 ❯❯ Kenny Moore returned two Bryce Young intercepti­ons for touchdowns, Jonathan Taylor caught a TD pass from Gardner Minshew and Indianapol­is (4-5) beat host Carolina (1-7) to end a three-game skid.
