Dear Readers,

I am homeless. Didn’t intend to be homeless. In fact I tried my best not to be homeless. it’s amazing what happens to your life when you’re dealt a bad hand. Generally whenever you’re falling on your luck it’s good to have family that can rally around you and help you out. But don’t you dare try to bother the Church about your problems. Because they just don’t care.

A case in point, and I know this from personal experience because I had attended one of the largest churches in The Woodlands. when I went in the hospital in September for eight days Not only was I never called to see how I was doing but no one visited from my church with the exception of my then spouse. I’m not the richest guy, not even close, so maybe the ‘church leaders’ figured well you know he doesn’t own a big house, he doesn’t drive a fancy car, and doesn’t have a cool title with a really big company. I guess I’m not the demographic the lead pastor is trying to court for his church. So after being on his standing order for coffee for about 4 or 5 years I said you know don’t worry about it let’s just know that we’re never going to have coffee and just call it a day and go our separate ways I guess that hit home because he never spoke to me since. I also have a huge red flag that flies whenever I hear a church preaching Malachi 3:10 twisting scripture to lead their members into giving money to God. Which means giving it to them (the church leaders). Can you imagine Jesus with the Rich Young Ruler and the Rich Young Ruler wanted to know how to have eternal life in Jesus told him take all you possess sell it give it to the poor then come follow me. Today’s teachers, and I can name some Churches, would have told the Rich Young Ruler take what you have sell it and then give everything to us after all you don’t want to rip off God right? The tithing perversion continues ever since the year 777 when the New Testament Church run themselves as a not-forprofit “charity” but when the poor turn to them and ask them for help whether it be for food or for shelter or even for gas money they will refer you to other agencies because they just don’t do that sort of thing. Isn’t it sad. The representative of Jesus Christ shirking her responsibility to the poor and needy. the wealthier churches of today don’t really care about the poor they just they just care about the bottom line. Bigger buildings, better programs, more staff. Oh, the poor and go get food stamps and other governemnt assistance. Rich churches are probably the stingiest churches when it comes to helping the poor however organizations are pathetic. In organized religion is the most pathetic of them all. The poor individual is more generous than all churches combined
