Quilter's World

As a quilter, I cherish my free time. I try to plan ahead so that I have projects ready when I discover a free afternoon or a long-overdue free weekend. With that thought in mind, many of the projects in the summer issue of Quilter’s World were selected because they’re time-friendly and can be planned ahead. Summer is the time of year when many of us tend to have extra chores and commitments. It’s not always easy to squeeze in the time to do what we love— quilting.

There are six great table runners in this issue and any one of them could be made in a weekend, or if you’re ambitious you could make the one of your choice in a day. Looking to learn a fun and different technique for Cathedral Windows? Well, we have one of those also. Make a cute table topper while you learn this technique on page 68.

We have several lovely bed quilts in this issue. Some are quick and easy, and some will require a bit more time. All of them are worth considering. If you have an upcoming baby shower, there are a couple baby quilts with lots of color options.

All in all, there are 16 great projects to select from. We also have our ongoing column written by Debby Brown, “Quilting on Your Machine.” Let Debby teach you all the tips and tricks to successful free-motion quilting on your machine and help you build your confidence. Summer is the perfect time to practice.

I hope you enjoy this issue of Quilter’s World as much as I enjoyed planning it for you!
