twice diagonally • 14 (37/ 8") B squares then cut

COMPLETING THE BLOCKS
Block A 1. Stitch one F HST to each side of one A QST as shown in Figure 1. Press. Make 28.
2. Sew a C square to each side of an A-F unit as shown in Figure 2 to make a Block A top/bottom row. Press. Make 14.
3. Sew a B HST to opposite sides of an E square as shown in Figure 3. Press. Sew a B HST to the remaining two sides. Press. Make seven.
4. Sew an A-F unit to opposite sides of a B-E unit as shown in Figure 4 to make a Block A center row. Press. Make seven.
5. Referring to Block A diagram, sew the Block A top, center and bottom rows together to make one Block A. Press. Make seven. Block B 1. Stitch one F HST to each side of one H QST as shown in Figure 5. Press. Make 24.
2. Sew a J square to each side of an F-H unit as shown in Figure 6 to make a Block B top/bottom row. Press. Make 12.
3. Sew an I HST to opposite sides of an E square as shown in Figure 7. Press. Sew an I HST to the remaining two sides. Press. Make six.
4. Sew an F-H unit to opposite sides of an E-I unit as shown in Figure 8 to make a Block B center row. Press. Make six.
5. Referring to the Block B diagram, sew the top, center and bottom rows together to make one Block B. Press. Make six. Block C 1. Sew a K HST to a G square as shown in Figure 9. Press. Make 48. 2. Sew a K HST to a G-K unit as shown in Figure 10. Press. Make 24.
3. Sew two G-K units and two K-G-K units together as shown in Figure 11. Press. Make 12.
4. Referring to the Block C diagram, sew a D HST to both sides to make one Block C. Press. Make 12.
COMPLETING THE QUILT
1. Referring to the Assembly Diagram, arrange blocks into five rows of five blocks each. Sew blocks into rows and sew rows together to complete the quilt center. Press.
2. Refer again to the Assembly Diagram to stitch the border strips on in alphabetical order. Press.
3. Layer, quilt as desired and bind referring to Quilting Basics.
