PROJECT NOTES
Read all instructions before beginning this project.
Stitch right sides together using a 1/4" seam allowance unless otherwise specified.
Materials and cutting lists assume 40" of usable fabric width.
WOF – width of fabric
HST – half-square triangle
QST – quarter-square triangle
CUTTING
From peach floral cut:
• 2 (27/ 8") W squares
• 3 (21/2" x 41/2") X rectangles
From peach print cut:
• 1 (87/ 8") Z square
From cream cut:
• 18 (21/2") A squares
• 2 (27/ 8") B squares
• 2 (21/2" x 141/2") C rectangles
• 1 (47/ 8") D square then cut
once diagonally (discard one) From green print cut:
• 3 (21/2" x 61/2") P rectangles
• 3 (21/2" x 81/2") Q rectangles
• 2 (11/2" x 301/2") R border strips
• 2 (11/2" x 321/2") S border strips
From red floral cut:
• 3 (21/2" x 41/2") E rectangles
• 3 (21/2" x 61/2") F rectangles
• 2 (31/2" x 321/2") H border strips
• 2 (31/2" x 381/2") I border strips From cream floral cut:
• 2 (14") T squares then cut once diagonally
• 2 (2" x 271/2") U border strips
• 2 (2" x 301/2") V border strips From green floral cut:
• 1 (87/ 8") J square
• 1 (27/ 8") K square then cut
once diagonally
• 2 (11/2" x 251/2") L border strips
• 2 (11/2" x 271/2") M border strips
• 2 (11/2" x 381/2") N border strips

• 5 (21/2" x WOF) binding strips
COMPLETING THE BLOCK
1. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of B and Z squares, and 15 A squares.
2. Position B and W right sides together. Stitch 1/4" on either side of the drawn line as shown in Figure 1. Cut apart on the line. Press. Repeat to make four
HST units. Discard one. 3. Stitch one unmarked A to the left side of one step 2 unit as shown in Figure 2. Press.

4. Position a marked A right sides together on the left end of an X rectangle as shown in Figure 3. Stitch on the line, trim seam to 1/4" and press open.
5. Stitch step 4 unit to the bottom of the step 3 unit as shown in Figure 4. Press.
6. Referring to Figure 5, position a marked A right sides together on the right end of E. Stitch on the line, trim seam to 1/4" and press open.
7. Stitch step 6 unit to the right side of step 5 unit as shown in Figure 6. Press.
8. Referring to Figure 7 and step 6, position and stitch marked A squares right sides together on one end of F, P and Q rectangles. Press open to make one of each unit.
9. Stitch the A-F unit to the bottom of step 7 as shown in Figure 8. Press. Stitch the A-P unit to the right side and the A-Q unit to the bottom to make a blossom unit, referring again to Figure 8.
10. Repeat steps 3–9 to make three blossom units.
11. Referring to Figure 9, position Z right sides together on J. Stitch 1/4" on either side of drawn line. Cut apart on line and press open to make two HST units. Discard one.
12. Stitch K to one end of C as shown in Figure 10. Press. Repeat, placing remaining K on the opposite end of the remaining C.
13. Refer to the block diagram to lay out and stitch Blossom units, step 11 and step 12 units and a D triangle as shown to complete the block.
COMPLETING THE WALL HANGING
Refer to the Assembly Diagram for steps 1–3.
1. Stitch a T triangle to the upper right and lower left sides of the Basket block. Press.
2. Stitch T triangles to the remaining sides of the Basket block to complete quilt center. Press and trim if necessary. Note: Border strip measurements will need to be adjusted if quilt center measurement is not 251/2" square.
3. Stitch borders to sides of quilt and then to top and bottom. Press after adding each border strip.
4. Layer, quilt as desired and bind referring to Quilting Basics. QW
