Small Business Rental Assistance Round TwoOn

July 11, Economic Workforce Developmen­t Department is launching Round 2 of the City of LA’s Small Business Rental Assistance Program, which will provide grants to eligible businesses located in the city that need financial assistance to aid in their recovery from COVID-19. Grants will be of up to $15,000 (or six months of back rent, whichever is less). Applicatio­ns are due by July 20. Help Shape New Zoning Regulation­s in Central Long Beach

Long Beach Developmen­t Services will be hosting a series of open house events as part of the Zone In: City Core effort, previously known as the Anaheim Corridor Zoning Implementa­tion Plan or ACZIP. The Planning Bureau initiative aims to update zoning regulation­s in the area bounded by Pacific Coast Highway, 10th Street, Magnolia and Ximeno Avenues.

City of Carson Free Dump Day

As part of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s $1.1 billion Clean California program, the City of Carson, Caltrans and Assemblyme­mber Mike Gipson’s office are joining forces to host a free public dump day for all Carson residents. Residents are invited to drop off their bulky items and household waste at the Carson City Hall parking lot.

This Dump Day collection is limited to household items such as old furniture, mattresses and carpeting. Items not accepted include: car tires, tire carcasses, tire split rims, refrigerat­ors, air conditione­rs, batteries, propane cylinders, oil or petroleum, contaminat­ed products, vehicles or vehicle engine parts, sand, liquid waste, salt/brine, detergents, used needles/sharps containers, medicine, fluorescen­t bulbs or tubes, chemical containers, hazardous waste, paint containers, electronic­s, treated wood, contaminat­ed dirt, sewage and asbestos. Loads that are not tied down, enclosed, or secured by tarps or other means, will not be accepted.
