Gallery seeks artists for spring fes­ti­val

The Mid­dle Street Gallery is seek­ing lo­cal artists to show their best works at a new Spring Art Fes­ti­val. Through­out April, the tworoom gallery in Washington will com­bine the the works of its 16 mem­bers with se­lected works from non-mem­ber guests. Artists ap­ply­ing for the juried show should sub­mit their en­tries by Feb. 16. The fes­ti­val is in­tended to salute the artists, mu­si­cians and ar­ti­sans of Rap­pa­han­nock and nearby coun­ties. The gallery will hold a free artists’ re­cep­tion and fes­ti­val cel­e­bra­tion for the pub­lic from 3 to 6 p. m. Satur­day, April 16. Artists wish­ing to sub­mit up to three works for con­sid­er­a­tion may down­load an en­try form from the gallery’s Web site at midd l e s t r e e t g a l l e r y. o r g . Com­pleted forms and pho­to­graphs of the en­tries should be mailed to gallery pres­i­dent Patti Bren­nan at dedan­[email protected] dedan­nan. net, and ques­tions may to put to her at that email ad­dress or at 540987-8615. Pho­tos should be in jpg for­mat and no larger than 300 dpi for a six-inch im­age. Orig­i­nal works may be in any medium and not big­ger than four feet in any di­rec­tion or heav­ier than 50 pounds. All work will be for sale. There is no en­try fee, but the non-profit gallery will re­tains a 40 per­cent com­mis­sion on works sold.
