Gallery seeks artists for spring festival
The Middle Street Gallery is seeking local artists to show their best works at a new Spring Art Festival. Throughout April, the tworoom gallery in Washington will combine the the works of its 16 members with selected works from non-member guests. Artists applying for the juried show should submit their entries by Feb. 16. The festival is intended to salute the artists, musicians and artisans of Rappahannock and nearby counties. The gallery will hold a free artists’ reception and festival celebration for the public from 3 to 6 p. m. Saturday, April 16. Artists wishing to submit up to three works for consideration may download an entry form from the gallery’s Web site at midd l e s t r e e t g a l l e r y. o r g . Completed forms and photographs of the entries should be mailed to gallery president Patti Brennan at dedan[email protected] dedannan. net, and questions may to put to her at that email address or at 540987-8615. Photos should be in jpg format and no larger than 300 dpi for a six-inch image. Original works may be in any medium and not bigger than four feet in any direction or heavier than 50 pounds. All work will be for sale. There is no entry fee, but the non-profit gallery will retains a 40 percent commission on works sold.
