Hello, VDOT?

Rappahannock News - - EDITORIAL & OPINION -

I’ve been trying to contact this agency or department, for the last four to six weeks, or since the flood of May. I read in the paper that they received a limited amount of funds from the state, so I kind of understand why they haven’t fixed the road in front of my cemetery five to six weeks ago, on Route 614. So I tried to contact them to ask if they would approve and let me fill the washout myself.

When I called the number listed for Rappahannock VDOT facility in the “Green Pages,” I got Harrisonburg, and they said they would pass my message on. After calling them four weeks in a row, I wonder if calling an 800 number in India might have worked better. I live a mile and a half from the VDOT compound across from the dump, but they have a sign saying “Authorized Vehicles Only,” and “Do Not Enter,” so is this VDOT office an extension of the Pentagon?
