Frank R. Mcghee, Jr.

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Frank R. Mcghee, Jr. son of Frank R. Mcghee, Sr and Regina Feagans Mcghee passed away on May 3rd 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred LC Mcghee and his three children, Genia Planck and husband Eric of Crownsvill­e, MD; Frank R. Mcghee III and wife Julie of WVA; Kenneth Mcghee and wife Cindy of Sperryvill­e, VA; eight grandchild­ren - Jerome Meehan and wife Laura of Front Royal, VA; Nikholis Planck of Baltimore, MD, Myla Shomock and husband Sr. Airman Luke Shomock of Abilene, TX, Nathan Planck of Crownsvill­e, MD, Katie Mcghee of WVA, Paula Mcghee of WVA, Benjamin Mcghee of WVA, Kayla Mcghee of Sperryvill­e, VA. And two great grandchild­ren Hayden Planck and Madison Meehan. He also has three surviving brothers, Gary Wade Mcghee, Michael Mcghee and Patrick Mcghee and their families and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Mcghee.

Frank retired from active military service after 25+ years at Ft. Bliss, Texas, later moving to Amissville, VA with his family. He then worked and retired from the Metropolit­an Washington Airport Authority at Dulles Internatio­nal Airport.

Mr. Mcghee was a former member of the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department, and later the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. He was also a Freemason having been raised to the degree of Master Mason in Stuttgart, Germany. Frank had a great love of bluegrass music. He performed in a band with friends called Homemade Jam playing the Dobro. He was also a three time winner of the Crump Family Fishing Tournament, earning the self proclaimed title of King.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA. He will be laid to rest at the Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Amissville Volunteer Fire & Rescue Dept, P.O. Box 147, Amissville, VA 20106.
