Marilyn Maupin Hart

Marilyn Maupin Hart, 69, of Front Royal, died on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her home.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church conducted by Rev. Deborah Rutter.

Mrs. Hart was born March 24, 1943 in Alton, Illinois, daughter of the late William and Mary Wingert Maupin. She was a graduate of Trinity College in Washington, DC and retired as art director of the River District Art Gallery in Sperryville, VA. Mrs. Hart was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Front Royal, VA.

Surviving are her husband W. James Hart, III of Front Royal; one son Phillip Kardis and wife Penny of Falls Church, VA; one daughter Angella K. Warren and husband Brinton of Arlington, VA; two step-sons William J. Hart, IV of Rockville, MD and Patrick B. Hart of Stratford, CT; two half-sisters Ruthanne Wiese of St. Louis, MO and Laura Wright of Godfrey, IL; one brother William Maupin of Jerseyville, IL; one half-brother Roger Stewart of Centralia, IL; one step-brother Dennis Kirkonis of Cleveland,TX; and seven grandchildren Cora Kardis, Alex Kardis, Nikolas Kardis, Margaret Kardis, MaryJo Warren, Mark Warren and Lucas Warren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Chadwell, Matthew Gaglione, Patrick Hart, Alex Kardis, Richard Menikheim, and Brinton Warren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Marilyn´s memory to the Scholarship Fund at Calvary Episcopal Church, 11 West 2nd St., Front Royal, VA 22630, to the Annual Fund at Trinity College-DC, 125 Michigan Ave. NE, Washington, DC 20117, or to the Art Program at Wakefield Country Day School, PO Box 739, Flint Hill, VA 22627.
