Kathryn L. Morris Settle

Kathryn L. Morris “Kitty” Settle, 91, of Front Royal, VA, died on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center in Winchester.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal conducted by Rev. Dr. John Sloop. Burial will be private.

Kitty was born August 1, 1920 in Middleburg, VA daughter of the late John Henry “Tipper” Morris and Ida W. Proffitt Morris. She worked as a sales clerk for McCrory´s Department Store and Bells Men´s Store in Front Royal for many years. Kitty was a member of Front Royal Baptist Temple and was married to the late Carroll Franklin Settle, Sr. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will truly be missed.

Surviving are one son Carroll F. Settle, Jr. of Wildwood, Fl; one daughter Patricia Settle Banks and husband Alex of Harrisonburg, VA; one brother Robert Morris of Elkton, MD; five grandchildren Carroll F. Settle, III, Renee Settle Pleuss, Kathryn Banks, Alexander Banks, VI, and Matthew Settle; and five great-grandchildren Natalie Settle, Kyle Settle, Nikol Pleuss, Brigid Banks, and Alexander Banks, VII. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son Maurice Settle; and eleven brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be family members. The family will receive friends on Monday June 11, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
