Evelyn Cook Walker

Evelyn Cook Walker, age 84, of the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community, formerly of Flint Hill, VA, passed away at UVA Hospital, Charlottesville, VA, Monday, May 28, 2012. Evelyn was born January 28, 1928, in Huntly, VA, to James Phillip Cook and Ruth Eastham Cook; she made a career in the banking industry as a branch manager and teller; member of Culpeper United Methodist church; loved sports, birds and needlepoint and following the ´Sweet Adeline´s´, as her daughter is a member.

Surviving Evelyn are her children; Joyce Faye Walker and special friend, Dale Brugh, of Annandale, VA and Douglas Oscar Walker and his wife Gail, of Rome, GA. In addition to her parents, her husband, Maurice “Moe” Walker and siblings; James Warren, Robert E., Marvin Claude, Wilmer Barry and Margaret Browning Roberson precede her in death.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday, June 1, 2012, in the Flint Hill Methodist Cemetery, Flint Hill, VA, at 11:00 a.m. The family received friends at the Clore-English Funeral Home, Thursday, May 31, 2012.
