Community support is the cat’s meow

-

RappCats, a volunteer county cat rescue group, would like to thank the Rappahannock community for its support of our fifth anniversary celebration and fundraiser, Catstravaganza, on Sept. 21 at Little Washington Winery.

Proceeds will be used for our ongoing work to help the homeless cats of Rappahannock County through our spay/neuter, foster and medical care programs, as well as building a shelter for cats. Strong community support and the unwavering assistance of Rose Hill Veterinary Clinic and Blue Mountain Animal Clinic have enabled us to spay or neuter more than 300 cats in the past three years. Working together, we have prevented the birth of at least 1,800 kittens in that short period (assuming that each pair of cats neutered would have produced 12 kittens per year).

We celebrated our fifth anniversary with great food, music and lots of friends. We even had some of our kittens to show off! RappCats especially wishes

to thank chef David Poran of Creative Culinary Solutions in Front Royal for his tireless volunteer work in preparing a real feast!

RappCats sends a tremendous thanks to all of those who came to our event and generously supported us, especially the following sponsors and supporters without whom our work would not be possible: Rose Hill veterinarians Dr. Kim Cole and Dr. Betty Myers, Blue Mountain Animal Clinic veterinarian Dr. Johnny Clark, the William and Mary Greve Foundation, Lis K. Gylys, Little Washington Winery, Middleton Inn and its proprietor Mary Ann Kuhn, Bill Pragluski and CriticalStages LLC, Beverly and John Fox Sullivan, chef Jeff Benson, Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Susan and Tom Oliphant, The Inn at Little Washington, High on the Hog, Marriott Ranch, Thom Pellikaan, Mark Reinhardt and Laurie Smith, Union First Market Bank and Jonathan James, Xpress Printing of Culpeper.

RappCats looks forward to the next five years of working with the community to ultimately have a shelter for cats in our county.
