➤ The Rappahannock County

Garden Club awards the $1,000 Francis J. Leonard Scholarship to a county resident graduating high school and attending a two- or four-year college or trade school. Applicants are required to complete the Common Application for Local Scholarships and two 250-word essays. RCHS students can get an application from the guidance office; others available from guidance counselors or from Judy Segaar (540937-6644). Applications are due April 2.

➤ The Salem Educational Foundation has a variety of scholarships available to students from Culpeper and Rappahannock counties. Applications can be obtained from high school guidance offices, or by calling 540-547-2589.

➤ Applications are now being accepted for the 2014-15 Skyline CAP Head Start, a free preschool program for children ages 3 to 5 from income eligible
