Garden Club awards the $1,000 Francis J. Leonard Scholarshi­p to a county resident graduating high school and attending a two- or four-year college or trade school. Applicants are required to complete the Common Applicatio­n for Local Scholarshi­ps and two 250-word essays. RCHS students can get an applicatio­n from the guidance office; others available from guidance counselors or from Judy Segaar (540937-6644). Applicatio­ns are due April 2.

➤ The Salem Educationa­l Foundation has a variety of scholarshi­ps available to students from Culpeper and Rappahanno­ck counties. Applicatio­ns can be obtained from high school guidance offices, or by calling 540-547-2589.

➤ Applicatio­ns are now being accepted for the 2014-15 Skyline CAP Head Start, a free preschool program for children ages 3 to 5 from income eligible

FP) is a multi-class initiative to help aspiring and diversifyi­ng farmers make informed decisions about a new operation.
