Harry Rus­sell Smoot

Harry Rus­sell Smoot passed away on April 25, 2014 at Oak Springs of War­ren­ton. He was born on Jan­uary 5, 1934 to the late Ge­orge and Mary An­der­son Smoot.

He is sur­vived by his wife, Mary Wood Bai­ley Smoot; three step-daugh­ters: Mar­i­lyn Bai­ley, Mary Ellen Bai­ley El­liott, and Grave Lee Wood Wil­liams; two broth­ers: Alex Smoot and his wife Ruth Ann of Front Royal, and Charles Smoot and his wife Mae Fra­zier of Wash­ing­ton, VA; two sis­ters: Mary Jenk­ins and her hus­band Jack of Lu­ray, and Martha Marston and her hus­band Berlin of Ed­in­burg, VA; one un­cle, Arthur Smoot of Flint Hill, VA; and nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews and grand­chil­dren.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, Harry was pre­ceded in death by his brother, Ge­orge Smoot, Jr.

A Me­mo­rial Ser­vice will be held at 2 PM on Thurs­day, May 1, 2014 at Wash­ing­ton Bap­tist Church in Wash­ing­ton, VA, at the cor­ner of Mt. Salem Ave. and Gay St.
