➤ Pied­mont Soft­ball As­so­ci­a­tion is now ac­cept­ing reg­is­tra­tions for all girls born be­tween 1995 and 2008 in­ter­ested

in play­ing fast­pitch soft­ball in 2014. The reg­is­tra­tion fees are $50 per girl 12 and younger and $55 for older girls ($5 dis­count for mul­ti­ple play­ers from same house­hold; full scholarshi­ps are avail­able). ➤ The Culpeper Soil & Wa­ter Con­ser­va­tion District has sum­mer camp scholarshi­ps avail­able on their web­site, culpeper­swcd.org. The week long camps are Forestry Camp at Hol­i­day Lake 4-H Cen­ter and Youth Con­ser­va­tion Camp at Vir­ginia Tech. Four scholarshi­ps are given out an­nu­ally. ➤ North­ern Pied­mont Be­gin­ning Farmer Pro­gram (NPBFP) is a multi-class ini­tia­tive to help as­pir­ing and di­ver­si­fy­ing farm­ers make in­formed de­ci­sions about a new oper­a­tion. Classes ($150) are 7 to 9 p.m. at Mid­dle­burg Agri­cul­tural Re­search & Ex­ten­sion Cen­ter (5527 Sul­li­vans Mill Rd., Mid­dle­burg) on May 15, 22 and 29; and June 5 and 19.
