Al­co­hol, drug charges heard in dis­trict court

Drunk-driv­ing and mar­i­juana charges topped the dock­ets of re­cent Rap­pa­han­nock County Dis­trict Court ses­sions.

Dustin Tyler Breeden, 28, of Lu­ray, pleaded guilty to a first in­ci­dence of DWI. He was sen­tenced to 90 days in jail, all sus­pended, and 12 months of su­per­vised pro­ba­tion. His li­cense was sus­pended, but he may ap­ply for a re­stricted li­cense for lim­ited uses, and must have an ig­ni­tion in­ter­lock de­vice in­stalled on his ve­hi­cle and at­tend VASAP, the state’s al­co­hol ed­u­ca­tion pro­gram.

Ti­mothy Frank Clana­gan, 57, of Washington, pleaded guilty to a first in­ci­dence of DWI and was sen­tenced to 120 days in jail, all sus­pended, and six months of su­per­vised pro­ba­tion. His li­cense was sus­pended for one year, but he may ap­ply for a re­stricted li­cense. He must have an ig­ni­tion in­ter­lock de­vice in­stalled on his ve­hi­cle and at­tend VASAP. A sec­ond charge of pos­sess­ing a con­trolled sub­stance was cer­ti­fied to the grand jury.

Eric Jonathan Comer, 42, of Lu­ray, pleaded guilty to a first DWI of­fense. His 90-day jail sen­tence was sus­pended. His li­cense was sus­pended for 12 months, but he may ap­ply for a re­stricted li­cense for lim­ited uses. He must have an ig­ni­tion in­ter­lock de­vice in­stalled on his ve­hi­cle and at­tend VASAP.

Garfield C. Don­ald, Jr., 22, of Brook­lyn, N.Y., charged with pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of pos­sess­ing drug para­pher­na­lia and was sen­tenced to one year of un­su­per­vised pro­ba­tion.

Rurik Phillip Evans, 44, of Front Royal, pleaded guilty to DWI. He was sen­tenced to 90 days in jail, with all sus­pended. His li­cense was sus­pended for one year, but he may ap­ply for a re­stricted li­cense for lim­ited uses. He must have an ig­ni­tion in­ter­lock de­vice in­stalled on his ve­hi­cle and at­tend VASAP.

Ryly L. Gin­gles, 30, of Sper­ryville was found guilty in ab­sen­tia of in­tox­i­ca­tion and public swear­ing and was fined $100.

Carolyn Cort­ney Mor­ri­son, 42, of New Mar­ket, pleaded guilty to a first of­fense of DWI. She was sen­tenced to 90 days in jail, with 85 days sus­pended, and 12 months of su­per­vised pro­ba­tion. Her li­cense was sus­pended for 12 months, but she may ap­ply for a re­stricted li­cense for lim­ited uses. She must have an ig­ni­tion in­ter­lock de­vice in­stalled on her ve­hi­cle and at­tend VASAP.

Barry Eu­gene Ogles­bee, 47, of Washington, was found guilty in ab­sen­tia of be­ing drunk in public and fined $100.

Jeffrey Keith Scrog­gins Sr., 55, of Washington, pleaded guilty to a first of­fense of DWI with a blood al­co­hol con­tent of .15 to .20 per­cent. He was sen­tenced to 90 days in jail, with 85 days sus­pended, and one year of su­per­vised pro­ba­tion. His li­cense was sus­pended for one year, but he may ap­ply for a re­stricted li­cense for lim­ited uses. He must have an ig­ni­tion in­ter­lock de­vice in­stalled on his ve­hi­cle and at­tend VASAP.

Devin C. Sher­wood, 27, of Washington, pleaded guilty to a sec­ond in­ci­dence of DWI. He was sen­tenced to 180 days in jail, with 150 days sus­pended, and one year of su­per­vised pro­ba­tion. His li­cense was sus­pended for one year and he was or­dered to at­tend VASAP.

Evan James Stevens, 23, of Glen Burnie, Md., pleaded guilty to pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana and was sen­tenced to 12 months of un­su­per­vised pro­ba­tion.

Char­many Lynette Wil­liams, 37, of Jef­fer­son­ton, pleaded guilty to sev­eral of­fenses. For a first of­fense of driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence, she was sen­tenced to 90 days in jail, all sus­pended. Her li­cense was sus­pended for 12 months and she was or­dered to at­tend VASAP. For driv­ing un­der a sus­pended or re­voked li­cense, she was sen­tenced to 90 days in jail, all sus­pended, and her li­cense was sus­pended for 90 days. For ob­tain­ing or pos­sess­ing doc­u­ments to fal­sify her iden­tity, she was sen­tenced to 180 days in jail, all sus­pended; and 12 months of su­per­vised pro­ba­tion.

Other re­cent Dis­trict Court ac­tions in­clude:

Kaula Ann Cloniger, 18, of Amissville, was ar­raigned on a mis­de­meanor charge of as­sault and bat­tery. Her case is con­tin­ued to Aug 18.

Aaron Michael Hawkins, 29, of Castle­ton, was ar­raigned on vi­o­lat­ing his pro­ba­tion stem­ming from a June 2014 charge of a sec­ond in­ci­dence of DWI within 10 years. His case is con­tin­ued to Aug 11.

Akira Zhane Irv­ing, 18, of Front Royal was ar­raigned on a mis­de­meanor charge of pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana. Her case is con­tin­ued to Aug 11.

Nina Re­nee Kemp­son, 34, of Wood­bridge was ar­raigned on charges of a sec­ond in­ci­dence of DWI and re­fus­ing to take a breath test. Her case is con­tin­ued to Sept. 15.

Tyler R Mar­tocci, 20, of Front Royal, was ar­raigned on a charge of driv­ing af­ter il­le­gally con­sum­ing al­co­hol. His case is con­tin­ued to Aug. 18.

Wil­liam Sex­ton Ro­den­berg, 64, of De­la­plane, was ar­raigned on a first charge of DWI and driv­ing while drink­ing with an open con­tainer. His case is con­tin­ued to Aug. 18.

Bran­don Michael Row, 21, of War­ren­ton was ar­raigned for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana. His case is con­tin­ued to Aug. 11.

Zachary Miguel Za­mu­dio, 20, of Rix­eyville was ar­raigned for pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana and a Sched­ule IV drug. His case is con­tin­ued to Aug. 18
