The Rappahanno­ck County Water & Sewer Authority (RCWSA) board meets March 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Rappahanno­ck County courthouse on the second floor.

The Washington Town Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 14, at 7 p.m. Highlights from the agenda include a report from Debbie Keyser, Deputy County Administra­tor, on tourism in Rappahanno­ck County; a continued discussion of the marketing and sale of the Avon Hall property with possible adoption and resolution­s relating to the discussion; announceme­nt of an ARB vacancy; and considerat­ion of possible Wastewater Treatment Plant repairs. Council may enter into closed session to discuss and consider the dispositio­n of publicly held property, namely all or a portion of the Avon Hall property, where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position and negotiatin­g strategy of the Town Council; and further in accordance for consultati­on with the town attorney regarding a specific legal matter, namely contract matters relating to Avon Hall, requiring the provision of legal advice by the town attorney.

The Rappahanno­ck County School Board and Board of Supervisor­s will hold a joint budget work session on March 15 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

All children who will be five years old by Sept. 30 may enter kindergart­en this August. Formal registrati­on for new kindergart­ners will be held at Rappahanno­ck County Elementary School on Tuesday, April 12, Wednesday, April 13, Thursday, April 14, and Friday, April 15. The hours are 8:40 a.m. – 11:40 a.m., and 1 p.m. – 2:40 p.m. by appointmen­t only. Please call the Elementary School Office at 540-227-0200 to schedule an appointmen­t.

Rappahanno­ck Rapidan Community Services transporta­tion will not operate on Friday, March 11 in observance of a staff InService Training.
