➤ Virginia Cooperativ­e Extension offers a 8- week LIFT program beginning April 4 through May 25, Mondays and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a. m. on improving your health at the Washington School, 603 Mt. Salem Ave., Washington. The program promotes balance and flexibilit­y with the goal of improving functional fitness and independen­t living in older adults. ➤ Skyline CAP Head Start is a free preschool program for 3- to 5- year- old children from income eligible families. Applicatio­ns for the 2016- 2017 school year are now being accepted. ➤ Local 2016 NAACP scholarshi­p applicatio­ns are now available for high school seniors interested in continuing their education at a 2- or 4- year postsecond­ary institutio­n. Priority will be given to those students from traditiona­lly underrepre­sented, underserve­d and marginaliz­ed population­s who exhibit financial need and demonstrat­e academic promise and a dedication to improving their community. Students who reside in the service area of Culpeper, Madison and Rappahanno­ck counties can obtain an applicatio­n from their high school guidance office.
