Letter to Charles

-

Just one short year ago on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 3 PM you left this life for your heavenly home. We all still miss you and wish you could have stayed longer but knew this was not in God's plan.

The children are doing well, Jeff got the mandolin you always wanted for him and he's doing well with it. He and Rhonda have made beautiful improvements to the home place, you would be so proud. Fran and Rusty are doing well. In December Fran will receive her Master's Degree, your little girl has conquered another milestone in her life. You were always so proud of all her accomplishments. All the wonderful grandchildren are doing well. The beautiful great grandchildren are amazing. Little Barrett is walking and trying hard to keep up with Daddy and Mommy. Your little angel, Harper was on the front page of the Fauquier paper back in December for her many acts of kindness throughout the Christmas season and baby sister, Hailey is beautiful just like her big sister. Fran is on cloud nine because your 4th great grandchild is arriving in September, Will and Ashley are expecting their first baby.

Margaret, Shirley, Eddie, Yates and Bobby are all doing okay but still missing you. Yates made a beautiful dedication book in honor of you and your life, you would be so proud of it, we will cherish these precious memories of all of you.

Little Jackson came through his surgery like a little trooper and is doing really well now. Matthew, Sarah and Hannah are growing up too fast. They are all playing sports and doing well in school. Jack had another good year with the snow storms and Amanda, Shannon, Scott and all the grandchildren are taking good care of me.

Tiger Valley is not the same without you but we will continue on life's journey until God calls us home. The following poem is a Tribute to Mr. Charles William Jenkins of Tiger Valley who departed this life one year ago on March 18, 2015:

“Come Unto Me” God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be So He put his arms around you and whispered, “Come Unto Me”

With tearful hearts we watched you fade away Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay A GOLDEN HEART stopped beating,

hard working hands laid to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us, HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST.

You Will Remain Forever in Our Hearts Betty Lou and All the Families
