➤ The Washington Town Council meets Monday, April 11, at 7 p.m., at the Town Hall on Gay Street. The agenda includes: continued discussion of marketing and sale of Avon Hall; considerat­ion and possible authorizat­ion to obtain a short term financial obligation in the amount not to exceed $95,000; appointmen­t of an ARB member; discussion of Rappahanno­ck Food Pantry Day; and authorizat­ion of a public hearing on the budget. Council may enter into closed session to discuss and consider the dispositio­n of publicly held property, namely all or a portion of the Avon Hall property, where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position and negotiatin­g strategy of the Town Council; for consultati­on with the town attorney regarding a specific legal matter, namely contract matters relating to Avon Hall, requiring the provision of legal advice by the town attorney.

➤ The April regularly scheduled School Board meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 12, at 6 p.m. in the high school band room.

➤ The Rappahanno­ck County Water & Sewer Authority (RCWSA) meets at 5:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 14 at the county courthouse, 2nd floor.

➤ Open House at Belle Meade Day Camp for boys and girls 6-13 on Sunday, April 17, 1-3 p.m. again on Sunday, May 1, from 1-3 p.m.. The five two-week camp sessions run from June 6-17, June 20-July 1, July 4-15, July 18-29, Aug. 1-12, with swimming, hiking, canoeing, archery, arts and crafts. ➤ People Inc., is offering a free entreprene­urial business and management workshop on Thursday, April 14, covering key elements of business startup and expansion at the Rappahanno­ck County Library, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Advanced registrati­on is required. ➤ Rappahanno­ck Rapidan Community Services, (RRCS) meets on Tuesday, April 12 at 1 p.m., at 15361 Bradford Road, Culpeper. RRCS is an equal access and opportunit­y organizati­on.

➤ 4-H is offering day-long summer trips from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for 6- to 13-year-olds at Valley Star Farm and the Luray Zoo, (June 14); Wilson’s Animal Park, (June 21); Culpeper-Madison-Rappahanno­ck (CMR) Farm Show and the Castleton Festival Theatre House, Williams’ Orchard and NOVA 4-H Poo (July 12); Splashdown Water Park (July 19) and Graves Mountain Lodge (July 26). Busing will be provided at various locations throughout the county each morning. Space is limited. Thanks to the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation, for only $25, participan­ts will receive busing to each field trip, entry fees, daily supervisio­n and snacks.

➤ Summer Camp, (June 6-10) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 2 p.m., on Friday, for children 6 to 12 years of age. Campers spend five days at the Northern Virginia 4-H Ed Center where they participat­e in morning workshops. They swim every day and participat­e in afternoon activities. Cost is $80 for campers.

➤ The 4-H Culpeper-Shenandoah-Rappahanno­ck Overnight Camp is July 31 through Aug. 4 at the 4-H Ed Center, Front Royal, for 9- to 13-year-olds. Campers arrive Sunday evening and spend the next four days swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, and performing in the talent show and ending each day at the campfire circle. Cost is $265.
