Bel Canto Vocal Ensemble auditions for tenor voices are 7 to 9 p.m. next Tuesday (Aug. 16) at Piedmont Episcopal Church, 214 Church St., Madison. Potential tenor singers rehearse with Bel Canto’s current members for the first hour and audition one-onone with the director for the next, the auditions including pitch-matching, a range check and a few vocal exercises. Bel Canto is a mixed-voice community chamber choir with a diverse repertoire ranging in character from the silly to the sublime. Based in Madison, its members are drawn from surroundin­g counties. Blue Ridge Heritage Project’s upcoming meetings are 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11 and Dec. 13 at the Rappahanno­ck Library, for any and all interested in the memorial to be built in Rappahanno­ck County honoring those displaced from their homes and land in Rappahanno­ck when Shenandoah National Park was created.
