➤ RAPPAHANNOCK BOARD OF SUPERVISORS meets on Monday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m., and again at 7 p.m., at the Rappahannock County Courthouse, 250 Gay St., Washington.
➤ Fauquier Hospital will host a new support group called HELPING HANDS at 3:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. The first meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7; all sessions will be held in the hospital’s Chestnut Room. The group is for those 18 and older who suffer from a life-limiting illness or chronic pain. The intent is for the group to be educational, but also offer an opportunity for participants to talk about feelings and issues. For more information, call 5403163588.
➤ The RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY (RCWSA) meets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Town Hall, 485 Gay St., Washington.
➤ The second meeting of the RAPPAHANNOCK RESOURCES ROUNDTABLE meets at the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville on Friday, Feb. 9, not at the Library. Bring a bag lunch and network (aka schmooze), starting around 11:30. Meeting begins at noon.
➤ PIEDMONT SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION offers spring and fall seasons. EARLY-BIRD registrations are now being conducted 6 p.m to 8 p.m. every Friday evening at 10 Maddox Lane (old Bill Payne Auctions building) through Feb. 9. Early-bird individual registration fees during this time are $55 or less for the year for all girls registering to play spring 2018 softball. After Feb. 9, registration fees will be $85 per player (or less, depending on team age). Registration and playing gear financial assistance is available to any girl who needs it.
