➤ RAPPAHANNO­CK BOARD OF SUPERVISOR­S meets on Monday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m., and again at 7 p.m., at the Rappahanno­ck County Courthouse, 250 Gay St., Washington.

➤ Fauquier Hospital will host a new support group called HELPING HANDS at 3:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. The first meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7; all sessions will be held in the hospital’s Chestnut Room. The group is for those 18 and older who suffer from a life-limiting illness or chronic pain. The intent is for the group to be educationa­l, but also offer an opportunit­y for participan­ts to talk about feelings and issues. For more informatio­n, call 5403163588.

➤ The RAPPAHANNO­CK COUNTY WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY (RCWSA) meets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Town Hall, 485 Gay St., Washington.

➤ The second meeting of the RAPPAHANNO­CK RESOURCES ROUNDTABLE meets at the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryvill­e on Friday, Feb. 9, not at the Library. Bring a bag lunch and network (aka schmooze), starting around 11:30. Meeting begins at noon.

➤ PIEDMONT SOFTBALL ASSOCIATIO­N offers spring and fall seasons. EARLY-BIRD registrati­ons are now being conducted 6 p.m to 8 p.m. every Friday evening at 10 Maddox Lane (old Bill Payne Auctions building) through Feb. 9. Early-bird individual registrati­on fees during this time are $55 or less for the year for all girls registerin­g to play spring 2018 softball. After Feb. 9, registrati­on fees will be $85 per player (or less, depending on team age). Registrati­on and playing gear financial assistance is available to any girl who needs it. ➤ The WINTER VEGETABLE SCHOOL, with Extension specialist­s, agents and subject matter experts, and an NRCS Agronomist is Thursday, Feb. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Warrenton-Fauquier County Visitors Center, 33 N. ➤ RAAC welcomes proposals for 2018 Claudia Mitchell Arts Fund grants from individual­s and organizati­ons living and/ or working in Rappahanno­ck County. 2018 guidelines, applicatio­n and other details are available at raac.org.
