➤ The RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY (RCWSA) meets at 5:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Town Hall, 485 Gay St., Washington. ➤ The RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AUTHORITY meets at 5:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Rappahannock County Library, 4 Library Road, Washington. ➤ The second meeting of the RAPPAHANNOCK RESOURCES ROUNDTABLE meets at the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville on Friday, Feb. 9, not at the Library. Bring a bag lunch and network (a.k.a. schmooze), starting around 11:30. The meeting begins at noon. ➤ PIEDMONT SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION offers spring and fall seasons. EARLY-BIRD registrations are now being conducted 6 p.m to 8 p.m. every Friday evening at 10 Maddox Lane (old Bill Payne Auctions building) through Feb. 9. Early-bird individual registration fees during this time are $55 or less for the year for all girls registering to play spring 2018 softball with PSA. After Feb. 9, registration fees will be $85 per player (or less, depending on team age). Registration and playing gear financial assistance is available to any girl who needs it. Highlights from the agenda include a VDOT presentation on 2018 street repaving, a presentation by the Inn at Little Washington on their 40th anniversary Labor Day weekend celebration, consideration of the Planning Commission’s recommendations on a draft P to P (nee Airbnbs), an update on task force committees and appointments, and a discussion of the Foster Harris House request to amend SUP TW #16-11-14 Bed and Breakfast non-guest meal service.

➤ Fauquier Hospital will host a new support group called HELPING HANDS at 3:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. The first meeting will be held Wednesday, March 7.
