Barbara P. Willard

Barbara P. Willard, age 70, of Parkesburg, PA and Amissville, VA, passed away at her home in Parkesburg on February 8, 2018. She was the wife of R. Douglas Willard with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage on July 30th.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church conducted by The Rev. Sara Keeling. The family received friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial followed in the Flint Hill Cemetery.

She was born in Front Royal, daughter of the late Emmanuel Sr., and Mary Alice Brady Pullen. Barbara was a member of the Jeffersonton United Methodist Church. She worked as an administrative assistant for the National Academy of Sciences and Committee for Economic Development . After her retirement she was an advocate for special needs children. She enjoyed gardening, Knitting, and crocheting.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons John J. Willard and his fiancé Katie of Huntley, VA and Clayton D. Willard of Amissville, VA; a granddaughter that she adored Audrey Willard; and a brother Emmanuel Pullen, Jr. of Amissville, VA

She was the daughter-in-law of the late William and Helen Willard.
