Wal­lace Gra­ham Til­ley

Wal­lace Gra­ham Til­ley went to be with his Lord and Sav­ior Je­sus Christ on De­cem­ber 3rd, 2018. Wal­lace was born on Au­gust 15, 1929 in Patrick County, Vir­ginia to John Jay Til­ley and An­nie Pearl Til­ley. He was mar­ried to JoAnne Zinn Til­ley for 61 years. In ad­di­tion to his wife, JoAnne of Bos­ton, VA he is sur­vived by his chil­dren: Liesa Dod­son (Mike) of Bos­ton, VA, Greg Til­ley (Luci) of Lees­burg, VA, and Paul Jay Til­ley (Kristi) of Amissville, VA; A brother, James B. Til­ley of Liver­more, Cal­i­for­nia; Grand­chil­dren: Tim­o­thy Dod­son, Gre­gory Dod­son, Saman­tha Til­ley, Mikaela Dod­son, Tif­fany Til­ley, Cur­tiss Til­ley, Elianna Dod­son, and Ma­son Til­ley, and by many lov­ing nieces and neph­ews. In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he is pre­ceded in death by Brothers: John Jay Til­ley, Jr, Mor­ris Til­ley, Bill Don­ald Til­ley, Nel­son Til­ley, Clark Til­ley, and Ken­neth Til­ley, and a sis­ter, Kather­ine Estelle Til­ley. Wal­lace loved his many happy days and week­ends in Amissville with Cur­tiss C. and Hazel Zinn, Luer­ena Zinn, Gra­ham and Dorothy Hack­ley, Karl and He­len Bricker, Buddy and Betty Zinn, Frank and Anna Zinn, Far­rell and Nancy Zinn, and all his lov­ing Zinn nieces and neph­ews. Wal­lace lived in Fair­fax for many years be­fore mov­ing to Ch­e­sa­peake, Vir­ginia to be with his grand­chil­dren. He later moved to Bos­ton Vir­ginia, where he was a mem­ber of New Salem Bap­tist Church. He was al­ways smil­ing and al­ways invit­ing peo­ple to come to New Salem Bap­tist Church to join him in the choir. He loved to sing hymns and was a mem­ber of many church choirs. He loved to sing with his niece Deb­bie Zinn, es­pe­cially at Hack­ley's Store in Amissville. He liked to help and be a part of our mis­sion team for Hope for Ap­palachia, giv­ing his time to sort and pack boxes when­ever he could. He liked to gar­den, to work out­side and to fish. He LOVED to fix things and could about fix any­thing! He was a pa­triot who loved this na­tion. He served in U.S. Navy dur­ing the Korean War and was as­signed to the USS Mis­souri. He worked for the CIA and later for var­i­ous govern­ment con­trac­tors. Wal­lace’s great­est joy was his grand­chil­dren! A Fu­neral Ser­vice will be held Fri­day, De­cem­ber 7, 2018 at New Salem Bap­tist Church, 8233 Sper­ryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701, at 12pm. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends one hour prior to the ser­vice. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Amissville Bap­tist Church Ceme­tery. Re­cep­tion will fol­low at New Salem Bap­tist Church. The fam­ily would like to thank the lov­ing staff at the Har­bor Mem­ory Care As­sisted Liv­ing in Sta­nardsville, Vir­ginia. He was truly spoiled by his care­givers and staff there at the Har­bor! Spe­cial thanks to Am­ber Ralls, Beth Mur­phy, B.J. Work­man, and Cindy Law­son.
