JoAnne M. Mann
JoAnne M. Mann, 66, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018, at the Capital Caring - Adler Center for Caring (Hospice) in Aldie, Virginia following a battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life memorial service is planned for early spring near Rappahannock County, Virginia. JoAnne was born in Newark, New Jersey and grew up in Livingston, New Jersey. She worked for Esso/Exxon in Florham Park, New Jersey as an executive secretary from 1971 to 1978 where she met her husband, Bob Mann. She and Bob lived in Chester, New Jersey until 2000 except when out on Exxon assignments to England and Southern California. In 2000, they moved to Clifton, Virginia where they finished raising their children. JoAnne and Bob then moved in 2015 to their “retirement” home in Flint Hill, Virginia overlooking the Shenandoah National Park. JoAnne loved to be outside working in her flower gardens. She also loved hiking, kayaking, and snowshoeing when she wasn’t spending time doing cross-stitching projects. JoAnne is survived by her husband Bob, her daughter Jennifer Mann and her fiancé Ryan Chambers of New Castle, Delaware, and her son Christopher Mann and his wife Shikha Seth and their twin girls Rhia and Calina of El Segundo, California. She is also survived by her sister Lynne Palermo and brother-inlaw Tom Palermo of Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, her brother John Deliduka of Leavenworth, Washington, and her sister-inlaw Janet Mann of Freeport, New York. JoAnne was an inspiration to others as she traveled through her journey with cancer for the last twelve years. She always brought out the best in the people she met. JoAnne told all her friends not to mourn her passing but to think of her with smiles on their faces when she is gone.
