Romeo “RC” Cordero Garcia, 76, of Castle­ton, Vir­ginia, passed away at his res­i­dence, sur­rounded by his lov­ing family, on Tues­day, April 23, 2019. He was born April 6, 1943 in Som­br­erete, Za­cate­cas, Mex­ico to the late Guadalupe and Ser­a­fina Cordero Garcia. He is sur­vived by his wife, Sylvia Ann; two sons, Eric An­drew and Marc Adrian; three brothers, Alex (Alma), Roy (Yolanda), and Ge­orge (Shelby), and two grandchild­ren, Sara Ann Garcia and Sofia Grace Garcia… and a cat, Pretty Girl. He grad­u­ated from Texas A & M Univer­sity with a de­gree in Ar­chi­tec­ture and a Mas­ter’s De­gree in City Plan­ning. With a NCARB reg­is­tra­tion, he worked in many states pri­mar­ily de­sign­ing and plan­ning K-12 schools. “RC” was an ac­tive community mem­ber in Fair­fax, Rap­pa­han­nock and Culpeper Coun­ties. He served in the Li­ons Club, Catholic Char­i­ties, Knights of Colum­bus and at Pre­cious Blood Catholic Church. This in­cluded be­ing a 4th De­gree Knight, Past Grand Knight, Ex­traor­di­nary Min­is­ter of Holy Com­mu­nion, Usher, CCD teacher, Con­fir­ma­tion Prepa­ra­tion Teacher, and Prison Min­is­ter. He was proud to have been saved by Je­sus Christ and to serve Him through the Catholic Church. The family will re­ceive friends on Mon­day, April 29, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Fu­neral Chapel, 850 Sper­ryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with a Rosary prayer ser­vice at 7:00 p.m. A memo­rial ser­vice will be held on Tues­day, April 30, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Pre­cious Blood Catholic Church, 114 E. Ed­mond­son St., Culpeper, VA with Fa­ther Kevin Walsh of­fi­ci­at­ing. Inurn­ment will fol­low at St. Peter’s Catholic Ceme­tery, Wash­ing­ton, VA. In lieu of flow­ers, memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made in his name to Hos­pice of the Pied­mont, 675 Peter Jef­fer­son Pkwy, Suite 300, Char­lottesvill­e, VA 22911.
