COFFEE WITH THE MAYOR
has been cancelled for Saturday, July 6, at Town Hall. Mayor Catlin will resume Coffee with the Mayor on Saturday, Aug. 3.
The WASHINGTON TOWN COUNCIL
meets on Monday, July 8, at 7 p.m.at Town Hall. Highlights from the agenda include: an update on the Post Office project and possible adoption of a Resolution confirming the Town’s responsibility for matters relating to maintenance and removal of the remains of the structure on property to be sold by the Town for a new postal facility; consideration and possible approval of expenditure of funds for the removal of the remains of the structure on property for new postal facility; consideration and possible approval of a proposal to paint the Wastewater Treatment Facility building; a possible closed session in accordance with the provisions of Section 2.2.3711 A. 3 to discuss the disposition of publicly held property, namely Parcel 3 at the intersection of Old Route 211 and Leggett Lane, where discussion in open session would adversely affect the bargaining position and negotiating strategy of the Town Council and then, in open session, consideration of a resolution or advertisement of an ordinance for the sale of Parcel 3 at the intersection of old route 211 and Leggett Lane for the sum of $1.00 to induce location of a new postal facility within the Town; and a possible closed session in accordance with the provisions of Sec 2.2.-3711 A. 1 to discuss and consider prospective named candidates for employment with the Town as Town Clerk.
RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD
meets on July 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the band room at the high school.
The ARB of the Town of Washington has cancelled its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, July 10, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AUTHORITY
board (RCRFA) meets every second Thursday of the month at the Library at 5:30 p.m. The next meeting will be July 11. The public is invited.
The RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE
monthly meeting will be on Saturday, July 13, at the Washington Town Hall, 485 Gay St., Washington. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and conversation. Meeting starts at 10 a.m. All are welcome!
