WCDS Wildlife Con­ser­va­tion Club grants schol­ar­ships

The Wake­field Coun­try Day School Wildlife Con­ser­va­tion Club is pleased to an­nounce its schol­ar­ship win­ners for 2019.

Con­grat­u­la­tions go out to Gwynn Ma­jor, Martin O’Heir, Emma O’Neill and Isak Bu­rak.

Each stu­dent re­ceived a cash award to pur­sue an in­di­vid­ual project geared to­ward con­ser­va­tion.

The WCDS WCC is a stu­dent-led club that seeks to pro­tect and con­serve the nat­u­ral re­sources of our coun­try and to ed­u­cate fu­ture gen­er­a­tions to be­come care­tak­ers of our wa­ter, air, land and wildlife.

The Con­ser­va­tion Club is cur­rently in­volved in both a blue­bird box im­ple­men­ta­tion pro­gram and a wood duck nest­ing box project here in Rap­pa­han­nock County. It will be­gin an on-cam­pus pol­li­na­tor project in the up­com­ing year. — Suzanne Zy­lo­nis
