Join Town of Washington Mayor Fred Catlin for “COFFEE WITH THE MAYOR” from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. this Saturday, Aug. 3, at Town Hall, 485 Gay Street, to discuss any topic.

The Town of Washington has VACANCIES on both the ARB and the Planning Commission. The Town is looking for letters of interest to be received by Monday, Aug. 5, from Town residents who wish to be appointed. Appointmen­ts will be considered at the Aug. 12 Town Council meeting.

The Town of Washington ARCHITECTU­RAL REVIEW BOARD (ARB), meets on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m., at Town Hall to continue the meeting previously held on July 17 to review the applicatio­n by Mid Atlantic Postal Services for the proposed Post Office building at Leggett Lane, Washington.

The RAPPAHANNO­CK COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE meets on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Washington Town Hall, 485 Gay Street, Washington. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and conversati­on. Meeting starts at 10 a.m. All are welcome!

The SCHOOL BOARD meeting will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 6:30 p.m. The location of the meeting has been changed from the high school band room to the elementary school gym.

Join us at the home of Bev Jones and Andy Alexander for the ANNUAL FOOTHILLS FORUM MEETING on Friday, Sept. 27, at Buckeye Farm, 54 Pophams Ford Road, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for an evening of wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Lucy Russo will be facilitati­ng a MONTHLY MEETING OF WRITERS who want to learn about new publishing informatio­n. The group will also share helpful informatio­n about resources or social media sites, offer editing tips, list resources to check out and places to post their works. All meetings are in the conference room at the Culpeper County Library. The evening meetings are the second Monday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. and the morning meetings are on the second Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. All are welcome to attend. Women in Worship (WIW) Ministries is pleased to announce the 2019 “EXCEL” HONORS. After the nomination­s process is completed and the 2019 honorees have been named, an honors luncheon will be held on Oct. 26, at the Daniel Center, Culpeper. Rappahanno­ck County Public Schools are looking to identify students from birth to age 21 who have or are suspected of having EDUCATIONA­L DISABILITI­ES. If you have concerns about the developmen­t of a preschool aged child, please call the early childhood/VPI coordinato­r at 540227-0200 to arrange for a screening. If concerned about a school-aged student, please call the principal at the public school the student attends or would attend, or if the student is currently home-schooled or enrolled in a private school.
