County schools welcome new RCES assistant principal
Lisa Gates has joined the Rappahannock County Public Schools family.
Gates will be serving as the new assistant principal, working alongside Rappahannock County Elementary School Principal Benjamin Temple.
Gates, a graduate of Concord University and Old Dominion University, previously worked in Wythe County as a kindergarten and first grade teacher and has a strong background in reading instruction, having completed reading recovery training.
Upon earning her Masters of Educational Administration, she gained valuable administrative experience in the Wythe County school division as well. In addition to her passion for education, she enjoys traveling, running, kayaking, and living an active lifestyle with her husband Jeremy and six-year-old daughter, Farrah.
Gates is thankful for the warm and friendly welcome from the staff.
“I love being part of the RCES family,” she said. “I can’t wait to meet all the students!”
