The Rappahannock County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Courthouse in Washington on a pair of applications by Arlington-based Community Wireless Structures (CWS) to build two 199-foot cell towers along Sperryville Pike close to Woodville and Scrabble. CWS has also scheduled balloon flights at both sites for this Saturday, Sept. 14. Red balloons aside, former NBC4 and “Today Show” meteorologist Bob Ryan, who has a home near Woodville, produced this height and distance simulation to reveal how the lattice tower proposed for Eldon Farms could appear from Route 522 and Yancey Road.
