George Everett Kidwell, Jr.

George Everett Kidwell, Jr. of Amissville, Virginia, passed away at Inova Fairfax Hospital on March 28, 2022, at the age of 74.

He was born on September 18, 1947 to the late George Everett Kidwell, Sr. and Edna Elizabeth Swink Kidwell.

Mr. Kidwell was a 1967 graduate of Rappahannock County High School. He was employed with Fairfax County Virginia as a Building Inspector and retired after 28 years of service. He then worked part-time for Rappahannock County as an Inspector for 17 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed relic hunting, fishing, and farming. He was a member of Amissville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Kidwell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha Walter Kidwell; two daughters, Betty Jane Jackson (Alan) and Sherri Lane Clatterbuck (Craig); two grandchildren, Elizabeth Lane Walkup (Robert) and Richard George Pratt (Sarah); and four great grandchildren, Anya Heinzelman, Oliver Walkup, and Enoch and Elijah Pratt.

Mr. Kidwell is survived by one brother, Thomas Paul Kidwell of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Amissville United Methodist Church, 14760 Lee Hwy, Amissville, VA 20106 with Pastor Maxine Crenshaw officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Amissville United Methodist Women.
