Oh, my. Yes, please. The Tamiya Avante is still a “grail car” for many collectors, so anytime Tamiya re-releases the late-’80s wonder, it’s a great chance to relive RC history. This Black Special version was last available in 2011, and it gets its signature paint scheme from the mini 4WD model of the car. As with most other Tamiya re-re kits, the Black Special gets a few durability-boosting upgrades to go with its otherwise true-to-vintage specs. There are carbonfiber and aluminum bits aplenty, and man, just look at it.
